States Lift Restrictions for Licensed Businesses
News reports this week state that the New South Wales Minister for Customer Service has agreed to lift the licensing restrictions in the state to allow pubs, bars, cafes (and other venues with a Liquor Licence) to sell their alcoholic beverages, in a take away or home delivery format.
Victoria, Queensland and South Australia have also sought to lift the regulations temporarily.
Hopes are that this will provide an added revenue stream for businesses who have been mandated to close to the public due to the recent COVID19 outbreak. It could help small businesses survive the winter and help hospitality workers to keep their jobs.
We hope that the other states will follow suit. Individual businesses will have to check with their state Liquor Licensing Authority to find out if they are eligible before implementing these services.
We will add more information as it becomes available.
