What is the difference between a glasswasher and a dishwasher?
A glasswasher finishes the wash with a final cold rinse to cool down the glasses. This helps prevent glass cracking in high volume venues where glasses are used and washed several times over a shift.
A commercial machine can wash a load in less than a minute, where as domestic dishwashers can take an hour or more.
'Rinse aid' products should not be used in these machines as this will leave a film on the glassware.
Why shouldn't I use a regular domestic dishwasher in my commercial business?
The main benefit of a commercial dishwasher over a home-use dishwasher is speed.
Commercial models have extremely fast washing cycles and dishes require little drying time – this allows them to meet the high dishwashing demands of restaurants and businesses. Most commercial dishwashers can wash a load a minute.
Domestic machines don't last very long in commercial environments, so you may save money in the short term you will most likely have to replace the machine sooner than you expected.
Do I need a drain pump?
If the plumbing for your machine is situated in a lower position than the outlet, then the drain is gravity fed and does not need a pump. In other cases the pump is needed to allow for the machine to work properly.
